REVIEW: DIOR CAPTURE TOTALE SERUM DE TEINT FOUNDATION

I bought this foundation a while ago, and if you ever tried this at the counter you will know exactly why I bought it. It's not a cheap foundation as it retails for £62.00. That's double the price of most high end foundations and well, that price is incomparable to drugstore foundations to say the least.

I tested this out at two different Dior counters, and was on the fence whether or not I wanted to spend the money on it. After testing it out the third time, I decided to take it home with me.
When I swatched it on my hand at the counters, this foundation binded to my skin like no other foundation. The finish that is left on the skin was silky, almost chiffon-like. I honestly have never had this experience with swatching foundations before - it honestly screamed out to me and forced me to pick it up - no joke.

I wore it a couple of times before leaving it behind in Hong Kong, and now that I am reunited with it again, I feel like I only just made a new purchase.

Application: With a damp beauty blender or sponge, it glides onto the skin.

Color Match: I have the shade 010 Ivory - it is slightly too pale for me but I have always been a combination of 010 and 020 in terms of Dior foundations and concealers.

Consistency: Extremely light and very easily blendable.

Coverage: More of a low to medium coverage for me. Coverage is not as buildable as other foundations. It maintains a silky natural look instead of a flawless look.

Finish: Absolutely gorgeous. It leaves skin feeling very soft.

Shine: It goes on the skin matte, but after a while there is definitely a bit of shine, especially by the end of the day but not super oily. Although I have fairly dry skin I still like to powder my T-zone after application.

Wear: The foundation does not last too well on me. I checked the mirror after 4-5 hours of wear and blemishes started to reappear and my blush became blotchy.

The foundation claims to restore radiance from 'within' and is a combination of skincare and makeup. However I have yet to see any skincare benefits, instead I was attracted to it by its lovely finish. There is a certain amount of radiance, but it ended up being oily instead of that glowing, dewy finish.

Will you repurchase it?
I don't see myself repurchasing such a pricey foundation. Much as I love the foundation, I don't think that it is worth the high price point. There are many drugstore/cheaper foundations that give a better radiant glow (such as the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation and Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation).

Would you recommend it?
If you have the money to spend on a foundation with a beautiful finish, then I think it is a good foundation to try out just considering the beautiful feeling you get after applying it.
However, if it is something that requires you to save up for, then I don't think it is a MUST-HAVE.

Hope you enjoyed this review. If you have tried this foundation before, do let me know your thoughts!
